28 Feb: eDrugSearch.com Online Health Community in Pharma Marketing News

John Mack is The Mack, as far as covering the world of pharmaceutical marketing goes. So we’re honored that John decided to profile the eDrugSearch.com Community in the February 2008 edition of Pharma Marketing News. The story is called “Prescription Drugs and the Health 2.0 Opportunity; the pdf here provides more detailed coverage. In talking with John for the story, I told him that we hope our new community will attract pharma marketers who want to learn more about what consumers are talking about today. Who knows — maybe a few drug reps and others will join in the fun, although John isn’t optimistic about this prospect. He writes: Much as pharmaceutical marketers may wish to engage consumers in discussion…

26 Nov: What do tag clouds say about top pharma blogs?

TagCrowd is a great tool that lets you input words from any source, and it spits out a tag cloud that lets you visualize word frequencies. We thought it would be interesting to take a bunch of recent posts from some top pharma blogs to see what’s foremost on their minds. Among the findings: John Mack is all about pharma marketing. Peter Rost is obviously obsessed with dissing Pfizer — but is he also obsessed with promoting BrandWeekNRX? Ed Silverman is on the FDA’s jock. 21 Aug: Rost vs. the Pharma Blogosphere?

It used to be Peter Rost vs. John Mack, but now it seems that Peter’s popularity with some other pharma bloggers may be slipping following the release of his new book, The Killer Drug. Bloggers are protesting Peter’s “shameless self promotion” on his own blog and newly acquired BrandweekNRX. A comment on Peter’s post “Is BrandweekNRX boring?” put it this way: The only thing that’s boring is this tit-for-tat between you and he-who-now-must-not-be-named. I don’t know about anybody else, but I find it to be an incredibly childish and ridiculous pissing contest that’s making you both look bad. I read this blog for news and analysis, not he-said he-said, and I’m coming back less and less. Ignore him and get…

17 Aug: PeterNRX talks with the mysterious Jack Friday

Here’s the interview. In other pharma blogosphere news, Peter and John Mack are still feuding. As for us, we love Peter, John and Jack. We’re just disgruntled that we researched our booty off for our Pharma Girls of Reality TV post — and then nobody linked to it. Can’t we all just get along?? Speaking of which, here’s your complimentary Friday afternoon episode of “Rodney King of Queens”…
