Ultimate Guide for Purchasing Crestor Online

Do you struggle with high cholesterol levels?

If so, you know how important it is to take Crestor medication or another drug to manage your cholesterol levels. Studies prove that high cholesterol levels are closely related to ischaemic heart disease resulting from narrowed arteries.

Despite this risk, only 55% of Americans are taking medication to manage their cholesterol levels. The rest are either unaware that they have a problem or they can’t afford it.

High cholesterol has no symptoms, so it’s important to get tested regularly to make sure you’re not at risk of heart disease. The test is a simple and quick pinprick test, with a home kit. Your doctor can also do a more detailed lipid profile test from a blood sample.

What if you can’t afford the medication?

You’ve come to the right place, we’re about to discuss all the ways you can save on Crestor. Keep reading.

What Is Crestor Medication?

Crestor medication is a type of drug called a statin. In fact, the generic form of Crestor medication is Rosuvastatin.

All statins work by preventing your liver from producing too much cholesterol. They do this by blocking HMG CoA Reductase enzymes, which the liver uses to produce cholesterol.

Other members of the statin family of medications are fluvastatin (Lescol), lovastatin (Mevacor), simvastatin (Zocor), atorvastatin (Lipitor), pravastatin (Pravachol), and pitavastatin (Livalo).

The side effects of Crestor differ from those of other statins. If Crestor disagrees with you, you can always try a different one.

One thing they do have in common is that they are all effective in managing heart disease.

Why Is Crestor Prescribed?

When doctors prescribe medication for high cholesterol, Crestor is often their first choice. This is because Crestor is an excellent defense against blood fats, called triglycerides.

Crestor can help to keep liver functions in check and improve cholesterol levels. Especially when combined with a healthy diet that is low in trans fats, dietary cholesterol, and saturated fats.

Clearly, Crestor is an excellent choice, yet, many people find the price of this medication prohibitive.

A 30-day supply of commercial Crestor 5mg can set you back around $185.

That puts this valuable medication out of reach for many people who need it, placing them at risk of stroke and heart disease.

Ways to Save Money on Crestor Medication

Fortunately, there are ways that you can afford this important cholesterol-lowering drug.

You don’t have to fill your prescription at the nearest corner pharmacy or online store you come across. There are many options for saving on your medication when you follow a few simple steps.

Try some of these fail-safe ways to save on Crestor.

1.) Use Our Online Cost Comparison Tool

Our online search tool can help you to save as much as 95% on your prescription drugs, including Crestor.

How can this be?

When you search for the medication you need on our website, you’ll come across a list of licensed Canadian pharmacies. These outlets are able to sell Crestor at prices which are often far cheaper than those you’ll see from the usual retailers.

On this page, you can also cost compare your options, browse the Q&As, read the detailed product description and Crestor reviews.

When you’ve decided on an option that suits you, all you need to do is click on your preferred choice, go through the quick ordering process, and wait for your delivery.

There are no queues and no uncertainty about getting the best price there is.

With our awesome online cost comparison tool, you could pick up your 30-day supply of brand-name Crestor 5mg for the low price of $8. That’s a saving of 95% off the regular retail price.

If you decide to choose a generic alternative, you could knock another $2 off the price. This means you save a total of 97% on a 30-day supply.

Screening Your Virtual Options

Bear in mind that caution is always advised when shopping online. While the internet gives us boundless choice and opportunities, it’s also the realm of many an unscrupulous operator.

You could fall victim to false advertising and counterfeit pharmacies that could supply you with you ineffectual, phony and even dangerous versions of the medication you order.

Be sure to read our guide to evaluating online pharmacies before you order any medications online.

When you shop with us, you have no worries about getting ripped off. All the pharmacies listed on our online comparison tool have been thoroughly vetted. We only list businesses that pass our stringent verification process.

They must have a legitimate license, comply with strict safety standards, require a prescription and have a secure, encrypted customer privacy policy.

2.) Apply a Crestor Medication Coupon

Believe it or not, you can save even more on your Crestor medication prescription in the same way that you can get great deals from supermarkets or online stores. You can look for a Crestor coupon!

When you visit our online price comparison engine, you also have the option to search for a coupon that applies to your Crestor purchases.

Simply go here and click on the ”Coupons” tab. It only takes a fraction of a second and you could save big. This page will list all of the Crestor coupons that are available currently as well as any additional savings on offer.

Some pharmacies offer percentages off your total purchases, price match guarantees and discounts if you refer a friend.

In this way, you could get even deeper discounts on prices that are already much cheaper than the retail cost of Crestor.

Another option is to sign up with the AARP. This organization offers great discounts for its members. Around 65 000 pharmacies across the US, offer discounts for AARP members. You could save up to 61% in this way.

Finally, you could ask your doctor. They may be able to give you a coupon for your prescription medications or tell you where to find them.

3.) Generic is the Way to Go

Most times, a generic variation of a medication is as effective as the better-known brand name version.

While Crestor is an excellent medication and a well-known brand name, you shouldn’t buy it just for the name.

Before you commence with a new course of medication, ask your doctor about any generic options that will work just as well. If they agree, you could save up to 85% on your prescription.

Among the class of cholesterol-lowering statins, the generic version of Crestor, known as Rosuvastatin, is an excellent lower-priced solution. Most insurance and Medicare plans will cover all of the cost of generic medications, if not, most of it.

To find out more about Rosuvastatin, go to our generic drug price comparison page. Here you can read verified rosuvastatin reviews, look for cost-saving coupons and compare prices.

If you’re concerned that rosuvastatin won’t measure up to Crestor, you needn’t be. All generic drugs undergo rigorous FDA testing to ensure that they match up to their brand name counterparts. They must have the same active ingredient, dosage availability and administration procedure as the associated brand name drug.

The reason generic drugs are so much cheaper is that the manufacturers of the drug base their medication on the original research done by the brand name manufacturers. They don’t need to cover the costs of expensive research into developing an original medication.

Once the brand name drug’s patent has expired, drug companies have carte balance to mimic these medications based on the original findings.

Taking all these factors into consideration, it’s well worth looking into a generic option to control your high cholesterol.

4.) Select a 90-Day Supply

Usually, doctors prescribe a 30-day supply of Crestor medication but you can buy it in other quantities.

A 90-day supply is often the most affordable option. Just like buying in bulk when it comes to your groceries, buying more medication can save you big on the cost per pill.

Ask your doctor if they are willing to write you a 90-day prescription for Crestor or Rosuvastatin instead of a 30-day one. If they agree, not only will you pay less per pill, but you’ll only have to remember to order your next batch every 3 months.

If you are buying your cholesterol-lowering medication via your health insurance or Medicaid’s mail-order pharmacy, you could save on that too. Most plans offer significant savings if you choose this option.

Of course, you can also find the option to buy a 90-day supply via our cost comparison engine.

5.) Take a Higher Dosage and Split It

Who would’ve thought that a $5 splitter could save you hundreds of dollars on your Crestor medication?

It’s true, cutting your cholesterol medication in half can save you 50% on the cost per pill.

You may have noticed that the price of a drug is often the same regardless of the dosage. This means that a 10mg dose of Crestor is often around the same as that of a 5mg dose.’

It’s simple math to work out that you can save half of the cost of your prescription medication by splitting the 10mg pill in two.

It’s important to get the okay from your doctor before you go this route and ask them to increase the dosage on your prescription. Studies show that you can split most cholesterol-lowering drugs without any negative effects. However, there are instances when you should not split your medication in this way.

How to Split Pills Safely

Splitting pills accurately requires a steady hand and 20/20 vision. Messing it up could cause more harm than good. Ask your doctor if they think this route could work for you.

You could ask a pharmacist to split your pills for you, but you should always consume the second half of the pill as soon as possible. Thus you can’t get them all split in advance.

You should never split some medications. These include pills that have an enteric coating or time-release properties and those that you take several times a day. Birth control pills are another no-no.

Don’t use a knife to split pills. It’s very difficult to get equal halves this way.

If your doctor gives you the go-ahead, you could enjoy substantial savings on the cost of your Crestor medication this way.

6.) Ask Your Doctor About Samples

Very often, your doctor’s cabinet could contain cost-saving solutions for you. Pharmaceutical companies often give doctors free samples as part of their marketing efforts. Ask your doctor if they have any Crestor samples for you.

This could help you to gauge the side effects of Crestor before you commit to a full month’s supply.

If you experience negative outcomes from taking a few pills, you can work with your doctor to find an alternative, without spending money on filling your prescription.

While you are on the topic of cost-savings, it’s important to speak frankly with our doctor if you have concerns about affording your medication.

Your doctor has your best interests at heart and they should always try to find a more affordable option for you. They could know inside information about how to get your Crestor medication at a reduced price.

7.) Review Your Health Insurance Plan

Take time to understand your insurance plan’s drug formulary list. This contains a breakdown of prescription drugs, both brand-name and generic, that are fully or partially covered by your policy.

The main area to pay attention to is the co-payments. Some drugs may come with a small co-payment, while others will be way out of your financial reach.

By migrating to a plan with more coverage, you could save on the co-payments for your Crestor medication. It pays to work out whether these savings are worth the increased premiums.

Be sure to check out the co-payments on generic options too. This could save you a ton on co-payments.

Remember to check out all your options before you renew your health insurance plan every year. A year’s worth of savings on co-payments will add up to a substantial amount, so stay on top of any amendments to the formulary list.

Save Money on Your Crestor Prescription

High cholesterol poses risks for potentially fatal events such as strokes and heart attacks if not treated properly with the necessary medications and/or lifestyle modifications. If TSH levels fluctuate wildly, getting thyroid medication levels just right can be more difficult. Thyroid drug interactions can result from use…

  • Memory Function a Reason to Simplify Your Medication Regimen - January 14, 2015

Previously, we talked about medication adherence in broad terms. In fact, we discussed how it isn’t simply a case of not remembering to take prescribed medication, that there are many factors that contribute to non-adherence. While this is true, we need to backtrack a little because a person’s memory does play a role in medication adherence. How Your Memory Works We remember information in pieces. As discussed in a recent Forbes article, a young person with a fully functioning working memory (the memory that is used when we are conducting mental tasks, such as problem solving) can remember 3 to 5 pieces of information at a time. As we age, our ability to remember information declines. This means the maximum capacity…
