In today’s world, everyone seems to be obsessed about their appearance. According to the standards of the media, you’re not good enough because you’re either too heavy or too thin—unless you’re Ron Burgundy.

In order to feel better about ourselves, we need to start realizing that photoshopped people should not be the standard of our expectations.

This beauty method is something that the media is starting to get away from, which makes it a little easier for us but it doesn’t make it better.

Aside from the media aspect, at some point, being too heavy or too thin does begin to have a negative impact on your overall health. When considering the too thin side, the method to fix the issue is clear, even though it isn’t easy.

But on the other side, there are numerous methods that can be used to lose weight. These methods do take a significant amount of motivation and commitment.

Making a commitment to work out at the gym on a regular basis is not for everyone.


For some it feels more like a chore than it should be. Luckily, going out for a walk is a great alternative. You can be outside, enjoying the weather and the scenery around you as you get some exercise.

The calculation for calories only works if your weight is not moving. So, if you are eating what you need to in order to remain at your same weight and not eating less that you’re losing weight.

If you’re dieting and eating less food combined with the walking, then you will likely lose more weight. When you have a good, healthy diet, walking can be a great way to work out and lose weight.

In addition to the health benefits, a Stanford Study found that creativity can be improved with walking.
