The most searched-for drug on for the past two months has been Abilify, which treats the symptoms of psychotic conditions such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Initially approved in November 2002, more than 12.5 million prescriptions have been written for Abilify in the United States as of June 2007.

Expect those numbers to continue climbing. Last week, the FDA approved the drug as an add-on treatment for adults with major depressive disorder. The drug is to be used in conjunction with commonly prescribed depression drugs, including the SSRIs Lexapro, Prozac, Paxil CR, and Zoloft.

  • I was one of 400 that completed the Abilify test for Bi-Polar. The test is no joke. 3-4 weeks in a hospital and a day out-patient every week.

I was severely manic and as a result in bad health at the time even though I am extremely educatued.

My experience with this drug, no side effects. I can’t thank Bristol-Meyers enough for all they have done for me. I think, from my experience, this is an actual “cure” for Bi-Polar rather than a bandage for mental illness. I hope medical researchers read this. Believe me, what was meant for one, actually may cure another. I have not had a manic attack since taking this drug two years ago. I call that a “HUGE” win for the drug industry. God bless this company for working on such a major problem. 🙂 Don

  • My name is Jamie Johnson and Im 25 years old. I have been living with depression for what seems to be a very long time. I am sick and tired of feeling this way, I dont even know what else to try. I am currently taking zoloft, an anti-depressant. It seems to be helping me a little but am still feeling down sometimes. I have been looking into alternative treatments, something to add on to what I am already doing. So now, with my therapy and medication..I also found out about certin stones that can help with mood and negative energy, I decided to try those as well. I now have been wearing my “healing bracelet”, as I like to call it for 2 weeks. I can honestly say I feel a little better, I actually think this thing is helping. I now have been recommending them to other girls in my weekly depression group, because if it can help me, maybe it could help you. Im not saying that there magic or should take the place of medication or therapy, but every little bit helps, if you know what I mean. I am just gratefull that I have started to feel a little better, because I get so sick of feeling down all the time. Also, it really sucks because it feels like now one understands. But if you want to look at the bracelets I will leave the link below, and I hope that they help you too.

  • Has anyone tried disolving 10 mg or 15 mg of Abilify in 4 oz of water in a glass. The side effect profile maybe better, if the patient works with the idea.
