In addition to prunes, many other foods are excellent sources of fiber. Consider adding a few of these fiber-rich foods to your diet:

  • Figs
  • Okra
  • Berries
  • Coconuts
  • Avocados
  • Artichokes
  • Brussel sprouts

Women between the ages of 19 and 50 should aim to get about 25 grams of fiber a day to keep their colon healthy.

Men in this age range require a higher amount, around 38 grams. After the age of 50, the requirements go down to 21 grams for women and 30 for men.

2.) Drink Ginger Tea

Ginger helps warm up the inside of the body to speed up a slow digestive system and increase bowel movements. For the best results, try organic ginger tea by mixing:

  • 2 teaspoons of ginger that has been freshly grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric
  • 5 cups of spring water

Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes. Sweeten with honey as desired.

Good post! A healthy gut is a a healthy body! I couldn’t bring myself to watch the video…I’m sure it’s bad! When we continue to feed our bodies the standard American diet instead of doing many of the great things you suggest, there’s a price to be paid down the road. You are what you eat!
