I have seen and read many studies about music therapy. Most of the studies look as if they have been researched well and the findings have been proven.
I have read about music therapy and Alzheimer's disease, depression, many psychological problems and many physical illnesses too and they all look rock solid to me.
The thing that I find that I like best about using music as therapy is that it cannot hurt the person using it. It might not work for everyone, but it will harm no one. |

I can personally tell you that music therapy does work as I have seen it in practice at a hospital that I use to visit. |

I have not read into the subject, but can understand that music can help you lift or enhance you mood. |

I am still a little new at this but I wonder if there are certain sounds (or genres of music) that are better suited for this? Even a little deeper, say is jazz only good for some things and not others? Very interesting to think about though and I love when there are new things brought in. |
