Plastics

Do you drink out of plastic cups? I know theres much talk about good and bad plastics lately and I'm wondering if I should pitch out those that I cant find out for sure if they are 100% good. Make sense?

I'm so tired of all the news releases about stuff being bad for us like its going to kill us in an instant. If you live your life in fear of everything you'll never be able to enjoy being alive. People have been using plastic for many years and the Earth is still overcrowded with no signs of slow down.

If only that plastic cups become garbage and land fill so easily, I would recommend that no one use them to drink.

Glass might be heavy but it is clean and won't give off anything that would leak into your drink. There are also rather good thermos bottles out there that are great for water. The temperature is kept nice and cool and during days like we have been having, cool water is a pleasure to drink and you will drink more. That's the best of both worlds.

I agree with the above poster. Everything and anything is bad for you these days. In a few years they'll be telling us the opposite.

I don't see them telling us that poisons are good for us. Trends change only in that we learn more of what is bad for us. Mercury was once a toy for kids-quicksilver. Then we found out how dangerous it is, and guess what-it's still dangerous!

We don't use plastic, at all.

I don't live in fear and I do understand some of the hype out there but it was a general questions as some of these cups we don't always use to drink out of, they are just the "extras" in the cubard.

If you are nervous about them then toss them. After all it is the health of you and your family that you have to worry about not how safe we "assume" they may be. Many things are bad for us but if we shirked them off and disregarded the dangers because "we didn't want to look like we were living in fear" then who loses out when we find out we should have been?

My husband works at a plastic factory, lol. His department makes a lot of the cups you see in convenient stores, like for coffee.
