What can Valtrex be used to treat? Is it only a herpes medication?

Valtrex is commonly used to treat herpes virus so that the body can fight off the infection. If you're affected with such virus, genital herpes, cold sores and chicken pox commonly exist. Are you aware that Valtrex is harmful to the kidneys?

While renal failure and elevated kidney function tests have been shown to be possible side effects of Valtrex, they are often listed as possible side effects of most drugs. However, anyone currently in renal distress should follow very specific guidelines (recommended by your doctor) when taking Valtrex.

Herpes, my friend, herpes. You should be careful with the intake though, as it has a pretty large amount of side effects.

I was not aware Valtrex is harmful to the kidneys, but it makes sense, as all antibiotics need to be broken down somwhere in the body. I will pass the information on - I still am wondering what other diseases Valtrex is made for though, I am pretty sure that this person is not taking it for herpes...
