I was at the doctor today for my yearly physical. They have posted all these new signs.
Sometimes rest if the best thing a doctor can prescribe. Listed there is do not pressure your doctor in given you antibiotics.
My doctor would not let me pressure them into anything. I think it's important that my doctor listen to me- but be the doctor.
What are your thoughts? |

I agree that we have over-medicated ourselves in the past. I for one have tried not to take meds unless it has become absolutely necessary. Our bodies are wonderful at fighting disease unless we over-medicate it so it loses the ability to do so. |

I agree I only take medicine when I have to. It seems as a society we want to pop the pill that seems to make us feel better right then. |

MMMMM, It seems like maybe that doctor is gettin people that do try to get meds from him. I`m like all of you, I don`t pressure my doc for meds. i`d much rather not be on meds. My doc doesn`t have that kind of sign up. Just the usual about co payments and stuff. |

I would never pressure my doctor into giving me medication. I go to a doctor for advice and help, and I greatly respect his opinion.
Like many people I only take medication if I really need it. |

I know when I'm feeling terrible and I think it's an ear infection- I want antibiotics.
When I go to the doctor and they tell me it's viral not bacterial and they won't help- I listen. I usually start to feel better with just rest and taking better care of myself.
I was just surprised to see all of these new posters. |

I honestly believe that a lot of these antibiotics cause more problems that the good they do. I have taken antibiotics and end up with other ailments that were traced directly to the pills I took. Proper rest and a good diet does go a long way in healing one's body. |
