I'm not sure if this is the medical term for them but it is what a friend of mine calls them so that is all I know them by. They are little small things that are mostly under my arms. Is this something I can pull off or something that a Dr needs to do? I'm tired of looking at them. They don't hurt or cause any discomfort but their appearance really bothers me. What can I do? |

You really need to discuss them with your doctor as most often these can have their own source of a blood supply or may simply just return. I had one of these that was actually quite large under my breast (it was caused by my bra rubbing etc) and the doctor numbed the skin removed it and cauterized the open skin. |

I knew taht tumors set up their own blood flow, but I thought skin tags were more like warts. If they have set up their own blood flow, it isn't enough to worry about bleeding problems with removal unless it is in a blood rich area, like the breast or face.
Since it can be removed without invasive surgery, there's a good chance you can remove it yourself as long as you take steps to ensure the spot won't get infected.
You should speak with your doctor first, hopefully without having to go to the office, but tags are usually no more trouble than common, non-venereal warts. Have you noticed how many OTC treatments there are for common, non-veneral warts? |

I get these all the time where ever my skin is rubbed by clothing. You might be able to take them off yourself but sometimes they can really bleed heavily because they do have their own blood supply.
I had one on my thigh between my legs that grew very large and started bleeding all the time. I went to the doctor and he took it off in not time. A skin doctor can take them all off at one sitting. It isn't anything major. |

My husband pulls his off, which I have like 5 "skin tags" but I am afraid it will bleed and will be hard to stop the bleeding so I live with mine. |
