Seeing "Stars" |
|
|
Actually it is more like fireworks. Every now and then I will notice that I see bright spots that shot around like fireworks. There is really no one thing that I've figured out that causes this but sometimes I will get a headache right after. Could it be a migraine symptom? Should I tell my Dr? |

It's the very beginning of a migraine headache. When that happens the best thing to do is to go to a dark room, close your eyes and put an ice pack on your head. If you catch it fast enough the pain won't be bad at all. And yes, let your doctor know about it. |

Also have your eyes checked. Problems with your retina can cause similar things to happen like there are holes or tears in the retina. Especially if you don't always get a headache. Either way, definitely speak to your doctor. |

A detached retina can indeed cause bright things and figures in the peripheral vision area (corner of your eye) if it detaches. If you've ever had your eyes examined and told you that your retina was thinning it could have come loose. |

There are a few things including dehydration that can cause those "stars" but I get them as well before I get a migraine. |

Thanks for all of the information. I was thinking migraines as well but with all of the other things mentioned I will definitely go to my Dr. I recently had an eye exam so everything should be ok but I want to make sure.
Thank you. |

I think it is a migraine problem. How can you avoid it ? Have you been getting very less sleep and have lots of stress lately? Yes? Then sleep more and try to relax yourself more. |

Could be a migraine, but it could also be blood pressure related. In order to determine which one is affecting you I would suggest a visit to your doctor for some baseline testing. |
