Can Lupus Cause Chest Pains?

My husband was having chest pains the other day. He went to the ER. They hooked him up to an EKG and everything looked fine. The doctor started poking him in the chest and when my husband indicated that it hurt, the doc said "well you are having a flare up of Lupus." My husband has had Lupus for a while, but it has never caused him to have chest pains before. My husband thought the doctor was not too bright because the way he was poking him would have caused anybody pain! Does anybody have experience with Lupus?
