Sunscreens aren't "all that"!

It looks like the sunscreens that people thought would protect them from facing a future with melanoma, haven't actually been providing what they promise.

Do you think there should be reforms and greater regulation on skin care products that are supposed to have a beneficial effect on the skin's overall health?

No- I think that most of us know that you should not stay out in the hot sun that long.
Sun screen is supposed to protect you from burning your skin- I would think that most people know that when you expose your skin to the sun- you could get skin cancer.

Sunscreen lengthens the amount of time it takes you to burn from UVA/UVB rays. Protect is a misleading word when it comes to sunscreen. While you aren't burning you are still getting exposure and most people don't cover every inch of their skin.

I don't think more regulation is the answer. More education is a better idea. People should be aware of how these products can benefit them and also be aware of their limitations.

I agree with Philbo. Too many people think slathering some sunscreen on gives them license to stay in the sun all day without worrying. They often don't reapply like they should let alone use the proper protection level.

Sunscreen won't give you 100% protection from the harmful sun ray. And regulation won't do any good! It is a known fact! That is why people normally go for higher SPF rating. Visit http://acnemine.com/articlesunscreen.htm to find out what is the sunscreen SPF rating you should use.
