Health Info from the internet? 

Just how much health info do you get off the internet? Do you find that most of the info you find on the web is accurate? No websites necessary, but do you find some are better than others or are they all pretty much the same?

There are definitely going to be sites that are better than others. But, yeah, I do get a lot of information off the internet and find I like to double check everything I find see if it correlates with other sites and such and most often it is very reliable information.

Sometimes though it is a personal opinion or account given by someone else and that has to be taken into consideration because everyone is different but it sure beats trying to get your Doctor to listen long enough just to still not get an answer.

This is a legit site, but there are plenty of scams or disinformation out there. Just keep your eyes peeled, and use common sense, and you should be fine.

I often find that the more you look into a subject the more conflicting it can be. I tend to use NHS direct as a source of reference. it is UK based and is run by professional health workers, and nurses etc. it is very basic, but tells you all you need to know.

There are some great sites out there and some really rubbish ones it is just a case of looking for them.

I get all my health info from the site. How do you know whether they are accurate or not? If you see the same things mentioned over and over again at a few sites, then you can rest assured it is accurate.

Me too flowerhorn. If I see the same thing on all the sites i look at I pretty much assume its accurate. I still will ask my doctor though. My doctor is good and he will sit and listen for as long as i want him too.
