Cool Strips |
|
|
Not strictly a drug so I can't post a review there, but cool strips are an alternative fever reducer for young ones. Used in the same way as a cool wash cloth on the forehead, it's a gel strip that stays cooler than the skin for up to six hours (till it starts to dry out) that helps to disperse heat.
It's a nice alternative to meds for a low fever, and a nice supplement to meds for something a bit higher. |

I've seen those but never actually tried them. They seem rather expensive since the gel is primarily the same stuff in disposable diapers. You can buy it for plants for a couple bucks for a small packet. |

I have heard of these but have never actually seen them anywhere that I shop. My son is sick right now and has a fever and I know it is tiresome having to get up and re-wet the towel for his forehead. |

I haven't heard about these before now but it sounds like a good idea. Sounds like the right thing to keep in a car's first aid kit. |

I have heard of these, but never have tried them so I do not know how well they really work. |

I also haven't heard of this new product and have not tried it either.
Personally I don't know that putting a cool substance on a sick person's head does that much for them. It will make them feel cooler, but I have always heard that keeping a sick person warm will help them fight whatever off whatever is making them ill.
Maybe that's why no one has heard much about this product -- it's not really that helpful? |
