Positive Aspects of Accutane:

Reduces acne quickly

Negative Aspects of Accutane:

Harsh side effects

Reason for taking Accutane:

to cure acne

Additional Comments:

I used Accutane to cure my acne. It worked quickly and was does cure acne, however I had to discontinue use do to side effects. I was playing basketball in school and it made my knees and joints ache. It also dried out my skin and would burn if I sweat excessively, or was out in the sun. It is affective at curing acne, however I would advise cutting down physical and outdoor activities while on the medication. Other side effects I read about include: bleeding and redness or swelling of the gums; changes in menstrual flow; chapped lips; decreased tolerance to contact lenses; dizziness; dry eyes and mouth; dry nose that may lead to nosebleeds; dry or peeling skin; fatigue; flushing; general body discomfort; hair thinning; headache; itching; lack of energy; nervousness; respiratory tract infection; sleeplessness; sweating; temporary worsening of acne; voice changes. Also you can not take Accutane if you are pregnant.

Positive Aspects of Accutane:

Definitely cleared up 100% of my acne

Negative Aspects of Accutane:

rash on skin while sweating or sun exposure, extremely dry skin, achy joints

Reason for taking Accutane:

teenage acne

Additional Comments:

I took this drug back in the early 1980's. It did wonders for my acne problem. I would get a red raised rash on my arms even 20 yrs ago now I still get the rash if exposed to sun very long. This is an awesome drug for acne. You need lots of sunscreen and moisturizer. .

Positive Aspects of Accutane:

cures acne

Negative Aspects of Accutane:

massive side effects

Reason for taking Accutane:

acne

Additional Comments:

This drug has the harshest side effects of ANY drug I've ever taken, by far. It works but will wreck you life for six months (the typical period it's prescribed). Dry skin, dry cracked lips, skin that burns afer 10 minutes in the sun ... it's very, very tough on you. It works, but I'd recommend you only use it after trying everything else.

Positive Aspects of Accutane:

acne treatment

Negative Aspects of Accutane:

too many damaging side effects

Reason for taking Accutane:

acne

Additional Comments:

Under no circumstance woudl I recommend this medication. It burned my daughters skin and aggrivated acne to the extent it took months to heal. nIt did not work on myhusbands adult acne either. The drug may work in certain cirumstances but shoudl not be overly Rxd to everyone suffernmiig from acne.
